I have a 2000 5-speed Insight with the original battery and just 22,000 miles on it. It hasn't given me problems that I know of yet (the little green light is visible). But because of its sheer age, I figure I'd better shop for one before winter. Any recommendations?

You can go with either drycells or a wetcell.

I'd recommend the Optima (yellow top), Odyssey 680, or the stock Civic batt from your Honda dealer.

I have the 680. I like the small size and weight savings only 13.5 lbs.

In my airplane I have an Odyssey 545. (made by Hawker) It weighs just 10.7 lbs, and has more than enough cranking power for the Insight. Billy....

If you want cheap and convenient, the civic 12V battery is what I went for.
