Oddly enough during my weekend trip the knob that controls the air temp seems to have broke. Anyone know if this would be replaced under the 3yr/36000 mile warranty or do I have to buy the part?

Looks like you have a 2001. When was that vehicle put into service? The 3/36 is usually whichever comes first.

Interestingly enough, Sept. 22 of 2002 so I have roughly 1 month left. Guess I'll take it in and try my luck.

Worth a shot anyways. Otherwise the knob can't be more than a couple bucks to replace.
