I ordered several parts and received them last week from Majestic Honda.
The cabin filter was $15.91 .

I won't be using Majestic Honda as I had a bad experience with them last year.

You might try any automotive parts store and request a CRV cabin air filter and see if they have it or can get it. It's the same size filter.

Thanks but I posted here for possible links and prices. If you have one great, if not then it doesn't help me. If I wanted to call all my local auto parts stores then I wouldn't have posted here. I figured the forum would be the best place to find out where other owners got their cabin filters at and at what price. This forum usually finds the best deals around.

I found out first hand the importance of REGULARLY changing the cabin air filter every 15,000 miles or 12 months. It was a maintenance item that I ignored. I changed it a couple of days ago and the pic explains the condition. I can't believe I didn't notice a change in airflow!!! I see the leaves from my heavily wooded yard were imbedded in it. The filter has been in the car for 34,000 miles and 15 months. NEVER AGAIN!!!! It is going to be on my biannual maintenance list.

Makes you wonder how we got along when cars didn't have cabin filters. I remember many years ago we always used to get leaves in the fans in the dash.

I am trying to order it from H and A, but it won't let me check out. I have tried calling them for assistance and only get a machine.

I just changed out my cabin filter. I bought my Insight new in 2001 and it now only has 15,504 miles on it. The filter was dirty but not to bad. But what a pain to get to. I would have thought Honda would have made it easier to get to.

Figgy, I would make only one change to your instructions for replacing the filter. The left bolt on the metal bar immediately behind the plastic cutout is so difficult to replace without removing the center radio cover that I strongly recommend just loosening it and swinging the bar down.

I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the bolt replaced, finally giving up and throwing it in the glove box after I buttoned it back up. Because of the plastic in front of it, it's virtually impossible to get enough pressure on it to get the threads started.

I at first thought I had done exactly what I'm suggesting, but the bolt was loosened too much, and it fell out.
