But I bought my Insight in 2006, so I guess I really don't need that link until next year . . . by which time the IRS will have changed the law, thereby making that link no longer valid (with my luck ).

I would highly recommend using Turbo Tax. It will ask if you bought a new hybrid this year, and it will fill out the form appropriately. (Or at least that's what it did in previous years.)
If you are filling out form 1040 (like I do) this year it is line 36. There are instructions in the form, but basically you write "clean fuel" on the dotted line that preceeds the space to enter numbers on line 36 and put $2000 in the space for numbers on the same line. Hope this helps.
There was no tax "credit" for 2005, just a $2,000 deduction. It goes on line 36, with clean-fuel written in on the line beside it. The form for taking the credit won't be out until late in the year for preparing 2006 tax returns.
