Have owned for 1.5 years, good shape, came with grid charger/discharger. No IMA light, no codes.

SOMETIMES I turn the key, the accessories/dash/everything lights up, but the car does not even try to start, with IMA or 12v.

SOMETIMES it works normally.

SOMETIMES there is a .5 - 1.5 second delay, and I hold the key in start, and then it starts.

Is this a failing ignition switch?

Need more information, year of car, and if 5 speed or cvt. Also please include your Location in your Profile.
As a starter, check ALL ground straps.

Ground straps are good, just checked them. Look newer, like someone replaced them already.

check your battery terminals. I had an old volvo where one of the nuts/bolts clamping the battery clamp down was super rusty and caused starting issues

Okay, figured it out. Floor mat rode up and was interfering w clutch switch. Oops. Easy fix tho!
You are not the first. It has happened to me, too, many times. Welcome to the club.

1/2 of the velcro combination on the back of the floor mats will keep them in place. (The male part)
