i'm about to become the proud 2nd owner of a 2000 Insight in about 2 weeks. i live in the country, and my driveway is a nightmare (lots of bumps and ruts). can anybody give me some information on road clearance, is the fact that the car appears to be very low really noticeable? i realize that i'll have to be extra careful when driving over bumps, just wondering how much of a hassle it's going to be.

Gongratulations :D

Clearance is plus minus 15 cm=7 inch.
Bumps and brick roads are nightmare.......just drive those roads easy

Good luck !!

I thought it was 6" :?:

Either way I have had no clearance issues thus far, just be careful when parking, do not drive all the way up to the curb otherwise you will curb the bottom of the front bumper.

The ground clearance of the Insight is similar to many other cars.

I just went out and measured the clearance. The lowest point is at the rubber air outlets directly in front of the front wheels. That measures 5-3/4". At the frame rails' jacking points the clearance is 6-1/4". It looks as if everything else is higher (although some things slightly) than that.
