Clicking sound when cranking

I left my headlights on for about 30 minutes without the motor running and then when I tried to crank the car, it would not crank and made a clicking noise like a sylanoid clicking. The 12 volt battery is relatively new, so I don’t think that is it. I had the car jumped and it cracked up and I drove it a little bit then it cracked just fine. Previously on another occasion it did the same thing making the sylanoid click sound, but it was due to me trying to raise the power window without the engine running and then, after that, it would not crank. After I let it sit for a couple of hours, then it cranked up. After both incidents it continued to crank ok. Any ideas on what might be going on.

Probably best to stop feeding your car/battery crack.

Do you even have an Insight?
You ran the 12v battery dead with the headlights.

It charged back up after you drove it a while.

Have the battery tested, it sounds weak.

Thank you Bruce in LA, I thought maybe it might be the battery is weak. I’ll take it out of the car put a slow charge on it and then do a load test on it to see if the amperage drops quickly. The battery is only two years old and has 25,000 miles on it so I was thinking that it wouldn’t be defective now but I suppose it is possible. Thanks for your information.
Thanks for your reply Bruce in LA. I was thinking possibly the battery could be a weak. Do you have a insight I can recommend you to a local shop

Yes have insight. Replaced with new 12V battery and so far no problems with cranking the car. Thanks
