out of nowhere, i i started grinding my gears sometimes when i shift this week. i quickly realized that my clutch had like 1/3 travel distance of play in it. i thought that it would be a quick fix, just have to tighten the clutch cable, only to realize that the system does not work like that. i looked on this form and saw that others had similar problems and were able to solve it by topping off/bleeding the clutch, (if i read it correctly,) but the pictures included were missing, and so i do not know how to do it. can someone help me by telling me how to do it?
Sounds like the clutch slave needs bleeding. check the clutch master cylinder reservoir first and fill as needed. Then bleed the clutch at the slave cylinder that's located at the front of the car, next to / behind the cover that shields the throttle cable. It's one 10mm bolt. I've found it's easiest to remove this cover. Takes two people to bleed the clutch.
Check under the dash to see if the clutch master is leaking down the firewall then check the clutch master fluid level if it’s not leaking go ahead and bleed the system
