Does anyone know if the2006 Insight is improved in any way? from say a 2003? transmission,Batteries,stereo,suspention etc.
I have been looking at and driving different years and the salesmen don't know much and admitt that I probably know more than they do.

These are the specs for the 2006 Insight, there is not really that much of a difference between the different years, as the 1999-2003 comes with a Grey and Black Interior with AM/FM Cassette Player with 2 Speakers and Clock, and comes in the Citrus Green (Or mabey it is only the 2000 that come with this color I am not sure) and the Monte Carlo Blue, while the 2004-2006 comes with a Navy Blue and a Beige Interior, and has AM/FM/CD Audio System with 4 Speakers and Clock. Also the 2002-2006 comes with a Brake Light and the 2004-2006 comes with holes in the headrest.

The powertrain warranty was improved in 2006. They get 5 years 60000 miles.

My major interest would be in any improvements in the battery life. We have all read about the battery issues with the older cars, was that unexpected by Honda, or did Honda expect them to last longer? And have they made any improvements in the batt?

AFAIK beginning in the 03 (and *maybe* in late production 02's) the newer MCM & BCM's are factory installed.

_Should_ help extend battery life.

When you go in for the "recall" on the MCM and BCM do they replace the old ones with the new ones (02/03+) or do they simply update the code in said modules (or what exactly to they do)?

Well...

My ignition doesn't light up, as far as I know. All Insights have spaces for rear speakers (I've managed without them in mine).

Anyone with a newer one care to comment on whether the factory speakers and deck are improved? I replaced my speakers with the Eclipse, which are adequate.
