What does your custom license plate frame say? Mine says "Edison" at the top (the car's name) and "The Anti- Hummer" along the bottom. Just wondering about the others out there.

Mine's not real cool, but I like it. I bought my car at Dale Sharp Honda in Topeka, Kansas. Even though I've sinced moved to Maryland, I still have the original dealer license plate surround because it says on the top of it "A SHARP Car" with the word sharp stylized and bigger than the other words. And since I do think my Insight is quite sharp, it'll always stay there.

Best licencse plate frame I've ever seen was on an Audi back when I was a kid in Georgia. On the top it said "I have an innie" and on the bottom of the frame it said "but I drive an Audi". I've always liked that, thought it was a funny little barb.

I think the best unofficial Honda Insight logo is: "My car sips petrol, yours sucks!"

I am seriously considering going to a Sign Writing shop and having this logo put on the back bumper.

License plate logo

Top of frame: Campo,Ca.
Bottom of frame: Little Red Rocket
License number (Almost) ASIC747.
And it means it, don't mess with the Little Red Rocket.

It looks like CafePress.com will do custom license plate frames for about $10

I am willing to setup a store with some different items, but what about an official InsightCentral.net shop? Sure, I wouldn't mind the extra income (especially working in the tech industry I'll be lucky if my current job lasts thru this month :? ) but I would think a well known name on the store would bring in more business and hits to the site. Just a thought.

I almost got "NOT AFV" for not alternative fuel vehicle in protest of the fact that many hybrids in Arizona had managed to get the special alternative fuel plates, along with the $34 a year registration (in contrast to the $320 I just paid). But, I guess they are slowly taking them away as I haven't seen one in months.

Other creative ones:
70MPG likely taken in most states
GASELEC
HYBRID Likely taken
INSIGHT
HALFGAS
1 LITER
D CELLS Another one to mess with peoples minds
.25 CD Ehh, no one would get it

Come on, lets make this list longer.

Mine says "GLITCH 1" as it was transfered from my other vehicle. I'm getting "GLITCH 2" for my Mom's 2000 Eclipse and another "GLITCH 3" for my brothers ride. I was thinking of putting a banner across the front 6" tinting strip. I was considering "HYBRID" in big letters and maybe "GASOLINE-ELECTRIC" above it or something. Not sure. I was also tempted to put "HONDA INSIGHT" or just "INSIGHT" or maybe just my nickname "GLITCH" as my last vehicle had that across the front. Most friends think I should just leave it alone. I think maybe a custom license plate frame that says "Self Charging - No cords" across the top and "My car sips on gas, your car sucks" across the bottom. As I always get the "power cord" question. Not sure yet.

I drove a GM EV1 for 5 years (best car I ever had, we had to give it up as GM will not renew leases or sell the car)... today they took away the electric charger from our garage.

Anyway, the EV1 plates were: 0 EMIT

We have ordered plates for the Insight: LO EMIT

(You can't believe the number of folks who came up to me when I was getting in/out of the EV1 and asked "Is your name Emit?" SOme people just do not compute....)

Well I think the original post was for the frame around the plate, but I wanted to share my thoughts on my possibly original idea for a license.
Living in Vermont and it being the Green Mountain State, I thought 'Greener' or 'GreenVT' would be good choices. I was also thinking of 'Cleaner' as a nice plate. However, I don't think paying 30 or 40 bucks a year for personalized plates is very practical.

I think $40 a year for personalised plates is very reasonable indeed, especially if you can make up actual 'words' in your plate.

Unsurprisingly, personalised plates start at £249 ($390) in the UK (one-off cost). 'Worded' plates cost thousands.
