I have been thinking of putting the Rostra cruise control on my car. Somebody on eBay posted a package for the Insight which seem to have all the right parts for $263 w/shipping. Any comments about the price?

rmnelson - others have gotten the Rostra setup for a little under $200.00 (if memory serves me...), I paid a little over $200.00 (I think - couldn't find the post) - around $230.00, maybe.

$260.00 is a little high (but then most things on ebay are)....

I bought one from the same guy and just completed the install last week.
This guy sells the whole kit for the Insight including the throttle adapter,
clutch switch and remote switch mounted on the steering wheel ( a very
nice option) Had no problems. With everything included, I think that
it is well worth the price. I have a CVT so I had to mount the remote
control switch on the left side of the steering wheel.

you can go to Rostra's website, find a dealer, call the dealer and order the kit - it comes with everything. Even with shipping, it's probably going to be cheaper than ebay. Dealer's will not all have the same price. The guy selling on ebay is buying from a dealer and reselling - he has to tack on his % of the price...

When someone here started to do a group buy, the price was going to be around $150.00 if I recall correctly.

Check the estimated time to install the cruise and calculate what your time is worth to you. I got my Rosta cruise installed at Ziebart for $299.95, with a warrenty on the installation as well as the hardware.

Does anybody know a good mechanic in the San Francisco / San Jose area that has experience installing a cruise control in an Insight?
