Maybe try "Bull Dog" in the conversations section.

Willie, I edited your post to correct my forum handle. It is "Bull Dog". There must be a space between the two words.

This is because there is another (more recent) member with the handle "bulldog". Which is unfortunate, and doubtlessly confusing.

Kstanley successfully messaged me 8 minutes after posing his message and I replied about an hour later.

Stupid question (yes, there ARE stupid questions ... and the stupid people that ask them ;)

@ Bull Dog

If I have a MIMA just waiting for me to find time to install it, is there any value to the 40% hack or is my manual control of assist/regen basically already doing that (to some effect)? Or would they combine (i.e. when I ask for more assist via. MIMA there's MORE juice throughput available to me)? Or would they be fighting each other?

@stevevetter They will not be fighting each other.

MIMA allows you to override the IMA. I.E. When it assist or regens and how much.
It does not allow you to give/demand more current than the system will allow in standard form

The current hack gives you 40% more current across the board, so with MIMA you would get the standard max + 40%

This is assuming of course your battery is good enough to cope with the extra current demand.
If not then the battery voltage will sag under assist and you might get a bit more power but not +40%.

That's what I thought but wanted to be clear. My battery is nearly toast (think it is original). I don't drive it enough and when I do it is on flat Illinois roads with a lot of highway. I plan to replace the battery over the summer (will probably go to @ericbecky) for this.

I've been keeping the battery alive through lots of discharge/charge using my Genesis One charger. IMA comes on after too many steady-state highway miles (and oddly, a few times it has come on and then gone off all by itself after driving around for a day ... I don't understand that one).

It's a CVT and rarely drops down below a few bars on the SOC (could be lying) and when it does that usually means IMA light is coming on. So the plan (not cost effective, but I want it) is new battery, MIMA in place and now the 40% hack. I'll try to coordinate all of this at one time, again hopefully through @ericbecky's shop as I can do this but am not experienced in it.
