Hey all. I've procrastinated on my making a mods page, but I finally got around to it. Kudos to Jackmpg for all the help he's given me, and to everyone who's helped me troubleshooting some really sticky problems. Here's the link.

Hopefully I'm not done yet. We'll see what the future brings. I'm happy to answer any questions and I welcome your comments.

Very nice... I love that sunroof and really want to get one! But I have been trying to curtail my car-related expenses as of late. :)

Does the muffler mod have any detrimental effects on your mpg?

Yeah, it makes me want to gun it a lot!
Actually, it should help it some. The engine can breathe easier and take less effort to get going.

IIRC Dan's hit the MPG answer on the head. ;)

Lower restriction in the exhaust flow increases _HIGH_ RPM engine horsepower at a loss of _low_ RPM torque (the physics of flow dynamics and internal combustion engines).

So if your driving in the high MPG style then there will be NO gains. However, heavier footed Insighters _might_ see a difference, but it won't be anything near what the Insight is capable of when driven as it was designed for (high MPG).

HTH! :)

I'm trying to relearn how to drive around here. Lots of hills and almost every does the speed limit. Some even drive 10 under. I can't get my battery to charge up unless I leave it in 3rd. I'll figure it out. It'll just take some time. ;)

Wish I had $900 to blow on a sunroof :( My only other comment is that you should have gotten Sirius.

or did you just find some one to put one in and those were the features that you wanted.
I asked at the Hummer and Honda dealers, and they all recommended the same company. They do customizations for like 50 dealerships. Then I went over on my lunch break to see what they had.

I love the XM. I get the Monsters (best morning show I've ever heard - give them 1 month) on 152 from 6a-11a, and they have channels 41 and 42. (Boneyard and Liquid Metal). I don't even listen to regular radio anymore. 8)

The reason that I asked is because I had the 300 power spoiler series installed last nov. It came with all the features that you wanted.

Maby they are cheeper in the winter then the summer. I don't know. But after reading what you paid, maby you paid for the cookies.

When the guys out east talked about the sunroof that they had installed I went to the webasto web site to see what was avalable. The people that I talked to called honda to see what would be best. They sugested the 300, but then I'm retired an live on a fixed buget. I don't have a lot of mony to through around. just my 2 cents.

You might have another insighter ask what the place would charge to put a Hollandia 300 power spoiler series in their car.

the place here had to order the the parts. No fancy show room.So maby not a lot of overhead. Where you order and wait for you vehicle was in the same room. but they had 6 bays that were full. they didn't care what type of car you had. It was good enough that you wanted it put in.

my sister and her husband had both of their cars worked on there and said that if there was a problem ,they took it back and fixed it.No charge.

So, it was either there or take a long drive with no recomends.

Hi Dan

Nice mods, nice Insight. Don't worry about the small price difference on the sunroof, at least you have got one. There is more to life than money (easy for me to say as a non-American).

Interesting choice of vehicles though - presumably an Insight to try and prevent the end of civilisation and a Hummer in case the end of civilisation happens (in a Mad Max kind of way) :)

I paid 711.00 for the whole thing
Did you get the auto-close, after 3 seconds, option? That costs extra
