With tongue in cheek. ;) Hopefully you've read the original.

Insight Desiderata:

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace there may be in coasting.

As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with other drivers.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others,

even the Hemi and Hummer drivers; they too have their story.

Avoid rude and aggressive drivers; they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter,

for always there will be greater and lesser rides than your own.

Enjoy your long trips as well as your short commutes.

Keep interested in your own mileage, however humble,

it's a real asset in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution when changing lanes, for the road is full of trickery.

But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;

many drivers strive for high mileage, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be Insightful.

Especially do not feign your mileage. Neither be cynical about others,

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,

a tailwind works wonders.

Take kindly the nicks in your paint,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of insurance to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many accidents are born of fatigue and distraction.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars;

you have a right to your lane.

And whether or not it is clear to you,

no doubt the universe is unraveling as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.

And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of traffic,

keep peace in your soul.

With all its snow, traffic jams and potholes, it is still a beautiful road.

Be cheerful. Wave at a Prius.

Hi Steve, a velum printed copy of the real Desiderata hung on my wall for many years, a gift from my mother. It has been recorded as a song and re-recorded as a spoof called Deteriorata. I was having a good belly laugh with my sister a couple of weeks back by misquoting portions of it to her on the fly. :D Sometimes when one is discouraged with the direction the world is taking and frustrated that others seem to take forever to get it, it helps to laugh a little. When I sat down at the keyboard it quickly morphed into Insight Desiderata.

I believe that the typical hybrid owner is more foreward thinking. The ones I have met have been "great people" as you say. Hope you are enjoying the HCH.

Kip, today I cancelled my HCH order, having already made the tough decision to try the Camry Hybrid (mine will arrive late May). I'm sure your good wishes will apply to that model, as well! Back at ya'.

Kip, your exortation brings a smile to my face. I have stopped here several times to re-read this, never satisfied with my reply, I have withheld the keystrokes. I will say, that the Insight has changed me. Not only driving styles in my other vehicles, but personally as well. I think my neck is even fading to a paler shade of red. :oops: :roll: :shock:

Your post in another thread brings a chuckle also.
