Do I need TPMS with snow tires on 2010

479 2
Do I need to bother with the TPMS if I get a set of snow tires on rims?

What happens if I don't have TPMS? Does it change how the car behaves? Will I still be able to use and or turn off traction control?

There are several threads about this. Here is one:

I got a whole list of threads using the search. My search term was "snow tires" and then clicked the advanced search button and selected 2nd generation forum. (You also have to uncheck "all forums"

I thought it might have been discussed on here, but I did not find anything's about it looking quickly, but in other Honda/Acura forums I frequent there are folks who get a set of "cloned" TPMS sensors. This allows you to change tires back and forth yourself without having the sensors reprogrammed at a tire store or dealer each time.

The TPMS system is independent. Not having sensors, or having bad sensors will not effect traction control or ABS operation, Those two systems operate off the ABS speed sensors at each wheel.

But the instrument cluster warning light will stay on... no way around that.
