I am lookingt at an Insight and the guy, private, says that the passenger door was lightly hit, with no frame damage. He said that the door skin and the window were replaced at a toyota dealership. It does not show up on carfax and he has no paper work for the repair. Should it show up on carfax if it was done at a dealer? What do you all think of this. I really want the car, so I don't want to be overly skeptical. The car is 800 miles away from me so that makes it hard to check out. If I do fly to the car, what might I look for for evidence or a quality or non-quality repair? Thanks

The work won't show up on carfax. The only place there would be a record of it is in the dealership's database. I think the fact that he's openly telling you that the door was replaced is a good sign of honesty. Just take a look down the side of the car in the sun, you should be able to tell if it was done poorly. But I'd be asking for some pictures before I flew 800 miles personally.
