The other day I tried to fit one too many things into that little net pocket between the seats when one end gave out: :(

It looks like there is only a thin piece of plastic inside the fabric along with the bungee. That piece of plastic broke off the end as the fabric ripped. Here is an image of the good side of net. You can see how it can slide a short distance. Another view of the side that ripped out.

Rather than dealing with replacing the whole net I decided for a quick fix. Stitching and wrapping some heavy thread around the ripped out end I recreated the loop. It went back in fine and seems to be holding up well.

Has this happened to others? Or am I just "lucky"? :?

Sure, I should have known better but I learned something, it was easy enough to fix, and I fealt like letting other owners know what could happen and share my experiences.

Does that net get stretched outwards too far and won't be as snug as it was before? I keep a few things in there but don't want to overload it, but I've noticed that it's not as snug as it used to be, i'm afraid i'll stretch it to much and the normal items I keep in there will start to be able to shift and move around. any way to tighten to strengthen it again if it gets to stretched.

As long as the thin plastic strip stitched into the net with the bungee doesn't rip out then I can't see that part loosening up. However the net material itself can stretch over time and its edges can slip a little from the frame.
