Hello to all.

I would like to know if it possible to tweak (either mechanically or via software) the engagement of the electrical motor assist so that it is in full effect earlier than only when the accelerator pedal is fully floored. I would like to adjust the system so that I could get full electrical assist around half the travel down of my accel pedal. I feel that the electrical assist is "lazy" to engage and really dislike to constantly have to be doing full throttles to see the electrical assist kick in. Has anyone done an adjust to the system for an earlier IMA kick-in or know how to get it accomplished? I have a 2000 Insight, 5-speed with 35K miles on it averaging about 54MPG on city/highway combined... not too bad... not too astonishing...

Thanks!!!

Michael :)

Mima

It is a softwear tweek and it is called MIMA.

Some very smart people from this site designed .... tested ... and put the system together you can now buy them....

Look at the threads for MIMA and you will find a ton of information ... but this will let you control the assist or the regen to turn it on or off and how much of each .

California is a long way from CT, so I can't help you install it,unless you are up for a cross country trip. But there are a couple of guys there that have installed their own systems and I believe you could get one of them to give you a hand.
I have just reposted the info in the buy/sell section of this site.
It seems to have disapeared.
