I remember in the months after Sept 2000 a lot of people would ask about my Insight, but back then it seemed just curiosity. This week, I've had two serious inquiries about my hybrid experience - i.e. they were considering gettting a hybrid themselves. I've told them aside from replacing tires and the 12-volt battery recently, everything is working fine over 60,000 miles, it has no problem keeping up in freeway traffic, it does not need an overnight charge, and to visit this site.

Anyone else notice people getting more serious about buying a hybrid?

Many more questions or positive remarks of late. Not quite up to the amount of attention it would get back in 2000-2001, but definitely an increase in attention that seems pretty clearly related to the recent increase in gas prices.

I'm also noticing more forum traffic.

Yeah, just about everyday at work someone asks me about it. A few are seriously looking at hybrids. Nobody has made the leap yet....

I am getting about the same amount of qestions this year as i did back in 2001, ESPECIALLY at the pumps lol

Just to ram the point home to other motorists, I suggest Insight owners get self-adhesive vinyl signs like I did, saying things like "70MPG" and "Lowest Emissions" etc. At least then when other motorists are staring at your Insight, they should instantly understand why you have this car and why they should get a hybrid themselves!

Six months ago, I put http://www.insightcentral.net in 3-inch letters on the back of my car. Had my third inquiry this week when a family was looking at my car outside the shopping center.
