Can somebody explain what the FCD button does pls.

also, when is rbbatteries restocking. Website says the 25 but it’s now the 27th.
As far as RBbatteries go, have you emailed or call them? I found them to be extremely responsive to concerns and questions. Unless there is some completely esoteric purpose it seems to me just to be another way to monitor your gas mileage.

Yeah I confused because once I press it q different mpg comes up.

Press button for lifetime mileage and mpg press again for miles and mpgs since last time it was cleared. To clear hold for two seconds.

The FCD button is essentially another trip odometer... super odd. It's modal; push the button to alternate between "normal odometer" and "FCD odometer" modes.

When you're in "FCD" mode:
-There's only one odometer (the "FCD Odometer").
-To clear this odometer, hold the FCD button down for a couple seconds.
-The "Trip" button (right side of instrument panel) doesn't do anything.
-Pushing the "FCD" button will switch you to "normal" mode.

When you're in "normal" mode:
-There are three odometers (A/B/lifetime).
-Pushing the "Trip" button cycles between these odometers.
-To clear an odometer, hold the "Trip" button for a couple seconds.**
-Pushing the "FCD" button will switch you to "FCD" mode.

It doesn't make any sense why the behavior is as above... but that's how it works.

Pro tip: Normally the MPG value only updates once per minute. However, you can force an update at any time by double pressing the "FCD" button.

**FYI: If pressing the "Trip" button doesn't do anything in "normal" mode, then your button is broken. This is a very common problem. New buttons cost around $1 and can be user-replaced if you know how to solder. There's a complete writeup on this forum.

Only confusing if you use it. My brain is always thinking......... divide the miles by 10 and you will be close for past, present, or future mpg. LOL

What mudder says, but figured I'd try to simplify/reword and use what I believe are 'official' terminologies...

The FCD ("fuel consumption display") button allows you to toggle between the trip "segment" display and one of the 3 "trip" displays (A, B, and lifetime). The segment display has arrows at the ends of the little bars or something like that. In segment mode, you can press and hold FCD button to reset. In trip mode, you use the trip button to choose which among A, B, or lifetime you want displayed. You press and hold trip to reset.

I usually use segment for single day usage, reset at the beginning of each day, which is essentially each trip. I usually only use one of the Trip modes, like A, and reset from tank to tank, rarely B. And I check into lifetime now and again... The segment display is what I usually have displayed, the meat and potatoes. But I'll toggle over to Trip A to check how many miles I've gone on the current tank, to gauge how much farther I can go until I've got to refill. I'll look at the average MPG value and multiply by 10, and compare the result to total miles driven since last refill, that result minus total miles driven since last refill is about how far I can go...

Pro tip 2: you can press and hold FCD when in trip mode (only when stopped or before trips or something like that) to page through the elements in the display that are or are not displayed. For example, you can remove the instantaneous fuel economy bars from the display that shows total, average, and bars, so only the total and average remain.

Back when my state required inspections, the testing facility had a strict "you must leave the car so we can test it" policy. I always loved watching them search (in vain) for the OBDII port. A couple times in TX they ended up just using the pre-OBDII tester (i.e. tailpipe emissions).

Here, too, they saw so few of them I was asked several times if it was "electric."
I used to stick a puke-green postie-note with
PLUG
HERE
on the dash.

fyi, segment display has a double-headed arrow at the top of the display.

You can remove the instantaneous, and you can remove the instantaneous and the average - so that only total remains. You can't remove the total. So it's like, press and hold, instantaneous disappears, press and hold again average disappears, press and hold again and everything comes back. Also, I did this merely with the car stopped, so you don't have to do it 'before a trip' or when you first turn the car on, etc. I didn't check whether you can do it with the car moving, but in the past someone said you can't do that...
