Didn't want to impinge upon the other thread, since the OP asked questions...

As I have posted, picked up my new 2013 EX on Monday. Did about 25 miles in town, the kind of stuff where you have a stop light every block or two, and driving judiciously, averaged ~27 mpg. Temps were mid 20s.

Today I took a small road trip to visit my 80 year old mother. Total trip was right at 100 miles, nearly 20 of that in suburbs on the outskirts of town, another 20 on I-75, and the remainder on rural 2-lane roads, with a total of 21 full stops each direction (at least 42 full stops overall in the 100 miles). Air temp when I started was 30 degrees, when I came home it was 37 degrees, and there was a constant 10-15 mph west wind. Terrain generally flattish. Zero mods on the car; tire pressure 48 psi cold.

Haven't filled up yet, as I have burned only about 2 gallons, but at 125 miles on the trip odometer [since driving off the dealer lot] the dash readout is now up to 49.5. On my 10 mile jaunt of interestate driving [coming home, when it was warmer], with cruise control set at 61 mph the dash readout hung steady at ~66 mpg. I know they can read optimistically, but in cold temps, a crosswind, and a brand new engine, I'm thinking 60 highway is well within the realm. Love the Insight already! Fun handling, and quite challenging to aim for the best compromise of not getting run over and fuel economy. In case anyone is wondering what the 2013 stock setups will do, quite a bit!

Wow, thats good.

Your head light switch does it twist towards you to the light logo above the off? Mines just twists away from you to park then head lights. I thought for a second you had automatic lights. :D

I do have automatic lights. They even have a sensitivity adjustment. Available only on the EX. And does twist toward me. Since my other vehicle is a GM truck with auto lights, I'm familiar with that function and glad to have it.

Wow, that sounds nice. I am assuming they cut off with the ignition as well as the sun?

Seems that car has a lot of features for an entry level hybrid. :)

Yes again: in the auto position, we can drive the car for years and never touch that switch, unless we get into some weird condition like a foggy day that nonetheless is too bright for the lights to auto-engage. I drove my GMC pickup from 2000-2012 and touched the headlight switch maybe once a year. I assume that the Honda variant is just as reliable, and probably better.

Thanks for your positivity, too! I'm reporting as I go along in the spirit of our all learning more about the Insight together.
