Anyone know where I can get cool floor mats for a 2004 insight?
Preferably asian symbol style?

don't buy the $5 from wal-mart. i got so sick of mine slipping around on the floor that i threw it out of the window in the parking lot.

The Honda ones are a bit expensive, but they fit perfectly, and look nice. The driver's side mat also comes with a clip that keeps the mat in place. Personally I think they are worth the money.

i got the HONDA factory mats. and as jbrasure mentioned, they fit like a glove and are very good quality.

I purchased some heavy rubber ones @ costco. I believe they were 20 bucks or so. They don't fit perfectly but they do fit well enough and are pretty hard wearing.

I bought some heavy rubber ones with ridges to catch the dirt, water, and snow. I bought some at Auto Zone, Sears, & Walmart. At Auto Zone I also purchased a red & white Hawaiian-flower-themed set of matching mats, steering wheel cover, and seat covers. I recall seeing Asian- themed-sets at Walmart. Some people have also mentioned the Pep Boys.

My mats didn't come with a hook. I asked at the Honda place and they want $12 for the hook. It's not the same as the Civic version.

Any ideas about making one from random hardware store parts?

have you seen the OEM retainer? it's a very simple design. if you've seen them before it should be quite easy to fabricate a crude, yet fully functional version from scratch.

i'd vote for fogetting the hassle of fabricating and flipping for the $12.

Got my mats from local discount parts store for $5. Match the grey interior perfectly. To keep these (and any other mats not by Honda) from slipping on the drivers side, just get a 'grommet' kit from Walmart sporting goods or Home Depot and insert as required at the floor peg where the stock mat would be. Unless they've changed from the later models (my 2000 here), allows you to make use of that peg sticking up in front of the seat.
