Hi Everyone,

I've had a request to try putting together another round of foot-rest orders.

I've got 2 interested parties, and I need a total of 5 orders to get the ball rolling. The price remains the same, at $40 - including shipping and mounting plugs.

I'll spare you all the details, but will provide a link to the thread on InsightCentral.net where they were discussed:

If you are interested, please contact me directly at [email protected] for details.

p.s. - apologies for the "for sale" nature of this post, feel free to ignore it if you are not interested.

Thanks!

Stainless steel?? C'mon - aluminum! :)

They do look nice though, quite tempted but need a few other parts first.
Heh...well they don't add that much weight to the car. I haven't noticed any drop in LMPG since installing mine about 2 years ago.

Seriously, I went with stainless for a couple of reasons:
1) Stainless just seems to hold up better to the constant wear, and as thin as the pedal is, stainless is a lot more sturdy.
2) It's easier to find a shop that will work with steel than aluminum.
3) The original footrest (made by a company no longer around), was made from stainless, why mess with something that works well?
Stick with stainless Jim. Aluminum oxide will make a black mess of the "carpet" in no time.

___What do you mean you didn’t notice a “loss” of lmpg after you installed yours? I have been gaining ever since I installed mine :D

Hmmmm...well maybe I installed mine upside down.

I've been wondering what THGISNI stood for.

ps. I put up a gallery of some of my Insight pics (including a couple of footrest pictures you all have sent me). You can see it here:

Some snappy duds

As the rogue said in that Clint Eastwood movie...

Those seat covers sure fit mighty fine!

Are they custom? Did you already post all this information 1000 times over?

Thanks,

figgy

Hi Figgi,
The seat covers are from Wet Okole.
http://wetokole.net

They actually list the Insight on their site now...I had to call them when I ordered mine.
http://wetokole.net/Merchant2/merchant. ... Code=HONDA

They are awesome - I've had them for about 2 years now, and they show NO signs of wear...that's almost 70K miles!

They are not cheap by comparison to most seat covers, but they don't slide around, they add about 2" of padding (much needed IMHO) and they are a breeze to keep clean. Since I put mine on, I've never taken them off or had to adjust them at all.
They don't specifically list the Insight logo, but when I called them to order mine, they asked me if I wanted their logo or a custom one. I told them I'd like the Insight logo - no problem.
It looks like they've even come down in price - I know I paid around $350 for mine 2 years ago.

BTW...I have no financial interest in them, I'm just a really happy customer.

Hey guys...the latest round of orders have arrived! :D

The orders I already received will ship out on Monday.

I do have 3 extras if anyone else is interested, please contact me off-list.

Thanks again!
Jim
To who it may concern:
I just received my footrest from Jim and it looks verry nice and it is good quality !!

Thanks Jim
Awesome...I'm so glad it arrived OK! If you get a chance, send me a picture after it's installed so I can add it to my gallery! :)

That goes for anyone else who purchased one of these...if you mounted it in a creative manner, please shoot me a picture to add to my Insight Picture Gallery.

Thanks!
Jim... really good gallery overall, I just spent a few minutes looking at your photos of the shoebox install.
Thanks Tim! 8)

BTW...I have tons and tons of space available for pictures, so if anyone has Insight Pics they'd like hosted, just let me know. I'd be happy to set up another Insight gallery - maybe for some other mods folks have done?
Hey Jim,

You mentioned that the Okole seat covers add about 2" of padding. Will this push my head much closer to the ceiling? I'm 6'3" and worried about running out of headroom.

Thanks,

James

P.S. I'm loving your old showbox sub!

Hi James,
Glad you like it, my system still sounds 'ok' but it's a little weak in the bass department now. I can hardly wait for my new HCH to come in.

I guess the answer is 'it depends'. I'm just a hair under 6' and the extra height didn't really bother me, but I keep the seat reclined pretty far back, so headroom is ample for me.
If I were you, before spending the money, if you have a comforter or blanket lying around fold it so it's about 2" thick and put it on the seat bottom. If you can sit on the seat comfortably (head-room wise) then you should be fine with the Wet Okoles. I don't believe they added more than 2" - maybe closer to 1-1.5", but I never officially measured them.
