(There's a 2004 thread on this, but it's suggested to start a new thread. so here goes)
It's been 18 years since I've seen this addressed, and I've been suffering the same chronic malaise, so I though I'd reach out for updated advice...

SInce 2004, has anyone come up with:

1. A clever was of drying out the assembly, once one removes the bulb holder?
(eg: Long flexible tube and hairdryer on low? Packet of "DampRid" on a string?)

2. How to reseal? What to use, specifically, that will last, stay flexible and wont damage plastic? Run a bead of clear silicone along seam?

How did you fix it? Without having to remove the assembly?

Advice welcome!

I would say that you are on the correct path. Dry it out as you have stated. Hose end stuck just inside of it and circulating air for a while. Then hope for the best trying to figure out exactly how and where water is getting in. Seal it up with some clear silicone caulk.

I recently had this same issue with the passenger head light on my 03 Insight. Couldn't see where water was coming in but figured it was the seal between the two halves just below the hood. Fixed it by using a small amount of "flowing silicone" in the valley where the two parts of the head light meet. I dried out the head light by using an old aquarium air pump for a day to pump in air and push out the moisture. Dry for the past three rain storms.
