Where gas is about $5/gallon (1.59 CHF or so per liter). Doesn't seem to bother the Swiss much: I see lots of Japanese mid-size SUVs around, also performance/luxury cars like BMW, Porsche, the occasional Rolls. No Insights spotted yet, but I did see a Prius yesterday.

The little Smart cars are quite common, but I don't think it's because of fuel economy. It's parking, and the narrow, winding streets.

As we discussed before, have a go in a diesel engined car if you get the chance :wink: - preferably one with the commonrail design.
