NEW TO FORUM

hello folks,I'm new to this site, but glad I found it.Iam a Avionics/electrical tech with experience in aircraft and unmanned aerial aircraft.I purchased a 2000 Insight to experience and learn the insides of the electrical system.I feel that hybrid technology is about to relly go,so I'm loking to starta Hybrid only repair shop.Any suggestions on technical training, brochures, would be appreciated.I read somewhere a post about the dealerships having a monopoly and they do,but I would like to challenge them too. Thanks all

Good luck. Most people are "sheepish" thus only head to their dealerships believing their service is the highest quality. They have been programmed into believing that the dealerships are likely the only place that can be trusted., that all independents are thieves.

Now let's address your desire to do a "Hybrid only" facility - are you aware that there are very few hybrids out there? Honda produced only @5000 insights per year. Only recently has Toyota stepped up their production of Prius. In the end you may want to look at the pool of potential customers and what their likely buying patterns would be. Is there really a viable dollar basis in servicing Toyota's and Honda's knowing they are some of the highest quality/ least likely to break down cars out there? For the vast majority of repairs would anyone need a "Hybrid specialist"?

Hey Slammer,
Where are you located? There may be a big difference in how you and dealers are perceived. Where I live, dealers are the ones who are usually looked upon as rip-off artists.
