Hello again; long time no post :D

So I need to have my 2002 CVT re-smogged come September and I have a couple of lights that need to be addressed beforehand; Engine and IMA.

My car seems to cycle between 4 different codes;

p1648, which seems new since the last time I checked.

p1449

p0560

and p1607, which was there the last time I checked but no longer is/was; I'll get back to this, though.

Only two blink codes; IMA 64, and ABS 61.

I know the gist of what they mean; I know for a fact that my IMA battery is toast, and have been running on gas for the past few months with the battery still in and the IMA system disabled.

After disabling the IMA system in order to run on gas, though, the IMA light stayed on and the p1648 showed up. I followed the instructions to a 't', and unplugged the two front... no, I guess it would be rear-facing BCM cables; the two pictured in the tutorial, anyhow. Might I have done something wrong to cause the p1648? I suppose this and the IMA 64 blink code go hand in hand.

My main issue is the p0560; ECM/fuse. Shortly after getting the car in early September 2016, my garden hose burst and flooded both foot wells through the driver side window; seeing as the ECM is under the passenger's feet, I'm fairly sure that's toast. If it is, though, then from what I understand (probably incorrectly) it's a miracle that the car starts and runs fine.

First question; which fuse might the po560 code be referring to? I've come across a post here suggesting checking the fuses under the dash, but the poster seemed unsure as to its' location. I checked all my fuses under the dash and they seem fine. Is it fuse 18 under the hood?
Which brings us to the next segment of my post.

In case it was fuse #18, I pulled it, tested it for continuity and it physically looked fine, and re-seated it/reset it.
Afterwards code p1449 disappeared.

Now the three codes listed are p0560, p1648 and p1607.

And, lastly, the ABS 61 blink code. I've read that it could be a ground strap issue. Just before disabling the IMA system, while limping along by grid charging once a week, the car started to refuse to restart after auto-stopping. It seemed to go away shortly before disabling the IMA system, though. Might this blink code and that issue be connected? I figure I should replace the ground straps in any case.

So what I figure I need to do/will be doing is:

°Replace the ground straps

°Go to the stealership and have them replace my ECM with one that I bought on ebay shortly after the car flooded, and program a new key since the replacement ecm didn't come with one.

I'd be the luckiest guy in the world, however, if the ECM issue is just a fuse that needs replacing. Otherwise I dread the cost of having a new key programmed for the replacement ECM. I've been weary of fiddling with the ECM's cables to see if they're just smooged up from the flooding in case it stops the car from wanting to start.
So information on the ECM fuse would be absolutely appreciated.

Which leaves the issue with the BCM; any help with that would be might appreciated as well.

The ABS 61 blink code I didn't even know was an issue as the ABS light isn't lit; hopefully that will disappear after replacing the ground straps.
As far as ground straps go, I understand replacement cables can be bought from pretty much any auto store. What gauge cable and length would be recommended to reduce the chances of fatiguing at the terminals?

Thanks for reading, and for any advice in advance :)

Pretty sure the 1648 (in your case 1648-64) is a code you have to live with when you disable the IMA by pulling those connectors. So, you'll either have to look into doing one of the mods that deal with that, such as Mudder's Arduino 'monster truck' mod, or take care of your pack issues, get the pack 'fixed'...

The underdash #18 should be the fuse that deals with back up power to the ECM, so you were looking in the right place... underhood number 16 also deals with that, so you might want to check that. But unless you're seeing other failures, like radio and climate control, it's not a problem related to either of those fuses... Since you had a water problem, I'd say you really should pull up the carpet and look at the connections to the ECM, make sure they're clean and dry, maybe even pull the ECM and make sure the whole thing is clean and dry... Not too difficult to do...

Your ABS code could be 12V battery/connections related, especially considering you're in IMA bypass mode. So, yes, check the 12V grounds, neg cable to firewall and 2 around the air box... Make sure you have a good 12V battery, most people would say get it load tested...

P1607 - ECM internal circuit malfunction... It sounds like you probably have a moist and/or crusty ECM... Pull the ECM, open it up, inspect, dry it out, etc...

Thanks for the info/advice; will do just as soon as the sun comes back up!
Wouldn't be surprised if my 12v battery is on its' way out; when having my brakes changed a couple months ago they charged it because they thought the crank speed was weak. I had to charge it a week or so ago when I noticed the headlights flickering/dimming and the radio going fuzzy. I turned the heater on to see if it was the battery, and sure enough, the headlights dimmed more and the battery light came on.
Will look into having it tested/getting a tester from Harbor Freight.

I spent the following three days after the flooding with the carpets pulled out and the doors open on top of a hill with plenty of wind and sun; there definitely isn't any moisture left over, but I don't doubt it's crusty as all heck. I'll check it out, for sure.

After getting the ECM sorted out I plan on getting a Bumblebee battery, so the BCM codes shouldn't be an issue by the end of summer.

Oh, yeah; may as well ask now that I've remembered rather than forget and make a new thread later.

I couldn't find the answer on their website; will take a look again to make sure, but if I were so inclined to take a road trip up the west coast would Bumblebee install a replacement IMA battery on site?

KLR3CYL (Scott ) is in Covina, CA; works at Jue Motors. He is an authorized installer for Eli's bumblebee. Also happens to be the top G1 mechanic for our little gems.
