Hi!

I didn't see an introduction forum around here, so I suppose I'll post in General Discussion.

My name's Jason and I live in Orlando, FL. I own a silver 2004 Toyota Prius package #9 BC and have developed the website GreenHybrid: http://www.greenhybrid.com as a resource for hybrid enthusiasts. I look forward to becoming a part of this community, and hope you all will join my own! 8)

Jason

P.S. I may not be able to get Insight mileage, but at least I have 5 seats :p

Hi Jason. Welcome to the site.

I drive a n Insight and have driven a hybrid Civic. I look forward to trying out one of the new Prius models. Unfortunately the local Toyota dealership does not sell them as they are too cheap to train their mechanic. They don't have brochures and the salesmen don't want to waste time talking about hybrids. One told me "if someone comes in looking for a car that is good on gas they will steer them to a corolla or Echo for about 10,000 less". After an hour or so trying to change their minds with the facts I left in disgust. (using full assist I might add)

I haven't had the time to check out your site but it looks great. John 1701 is a frequent contributer here and keeps us in line on occasion.

b1,

If you call up Toyota Corporate, they'll send you brochures. Of course, there's probably about 5 words for every full-page image, but what the heck :) If you have any questions, let me know. Or, you can read my Prius review at http://greenhybrid.com/explore/articles/meet_midori.php so you can get a feel for what it's like.

Where do you live? I may be able to help as far as getting information.

Hi Jason I was looking for information for a friend early in 2003. Now there is plenty of info out there.

Even though my personal favorite car is the Insight, I promote hybrid technology to friends in whatever form I think is apropriate for them. For a single car family driving primarily in the city the Prius is ideal. For someone like myself who likes a sporty 5 speed 2 seater, who lives 50 miles from the nearest city, and who wants to own their car for a couple of decades, the aluminum bodied Insight is perfect. If someone with lots of cash wanted a powerful hybrid, I'd hold out for the 2005 V6 (300 HP) hybrid Accord. It looks like there will soon be plenty of options.

Great website, Jason. Very stylish and informative. I like your car, too. It has an interesting and original name. Very cool.

Luna

(I wonder how many other hybrid owners have named their cars and given them genders.)

Thanks, guys. Stevo - I designed the site in Macromedia Fireworks, though I'm now switching to Adobe Photoshop. I coded it with the aid of Macromedia Dreamweaver, though I develop HTML, XHTML, CSS, and PHP/MySQL. The boards are Invision Board, but besides the Discuss section software, I made it all.

Thanks, again. Hope to see you there.
