I have a 2001 with 115000 miles and I just replaced my cat converter and now there is a high pitch whistle sound coming from the front end when the car is idling but goes away when I give it gas. I had not noticed this sound before (and I would have since I spend 3 hours a day in my car) and the service guy at my dealership says it has something to do with the throttle box and there is no fix for it.... Has anyone experienced this issue??

whistle

What's a throttle box?

Check for a vacuum line leak.

The throttle plate _can_ be the source of the whistle. And under certain conditions its unavoidable and normal. However, cleaning the plate can remove any _small_ amounts of carbon build-up that can change the air flow across this plate and increase the whistles frequency of occurrence.

HTH! :)
