Hi Jrrs:
___I wish I had the link but there was a web based article on the development of this particular Diesel for the European Accord. The chief intake and combustion wizard from Honda and his team were tasked to do everything in their power using all they have learned in developing the magical Honda ICE’s over the past 3 decades to create a Diesel of equal or higher achievement. This Accord Diesel is it.
___When it comes to variable valve timing, variable geometry turbo’s, multi-valve intake/exhaust’s, air intake tuning, light and strong cranks, blocks, and pistons, as well as emissions tuning, this is not for the unskilled new kid on the block. In other words, Honda used their best engineer and his team to do the iCDTi right and on their first public consumption iteration set the world on fire. Well, they set my world on fire anyways with the possibility of smaller future diesels powering an Insight or Civic and achieving even better fuel economy, lower emissions, and equivalent or better performance. All the while saving the costs of running a Hybrid drivetrain …
