Hello all. Haven't posted in a while, mainly because things have been going smoothly with the car. Recently it has been doing the "slow charge" routine..ie driving 40 miles of interstate w/ 4 charge bars showing, but not bringing the battery charge indicator up much. I'm hoping it's the fault of the original 12V battery which is getting replaced today.

Out of curiosity, has anyone dealt with Honda warranty when they were not the original owner of the car. I don't remember signing anything or specifically "transferring" the factory warranty...does that come as automatic, or something to contact Honda about?

Thanks for any input!

With Honda it automatically transfers with the vehicle. I think some other car companies you have to have it transfered though. I'm not the original owner of my car, and have had a few things fixed under warranty and have had no problems with warranty stuff. They just make sure the vehicle is under whatever specific warranty your using, which in your case I'm guessing is the IMA warranty.

The only problem is that they will probably tell you no light no problem.

Hi Corey,

Welcome back :!:

Rick's 100% correct no transfer needed. And shouldn't even be raised as an issue. (by them)

Have you tried the headlights light's on trick?

Given your symptoms I'd try an IMA reset. Sometimes the BCM gets lax in performing a recal and the IMA SoC will languish in a low Soc for weeks at a time. A reset is the manual equivalent of a recal.

Thanks for the info on the warranty...definitely something to keep an eye on. The car is at about 55K miles right now.

For the record, the 12V battery swap seems to have done the trick, at least for now. The car had the original battery, so I'm sure it was due for change. I dropped in a larger group 51 battery and did the reset. We then took off on an 800 mile cross country odyssey for family christmas. Started out with a crazy 35 MPH+ tailwind, warm air mods still in place and nearly 70F temps and got nearly 78 MPG at 75-80 MPH. Coming back we battled freezing rain, head / cross winds and below freezing temps which dropped us into the 58 MPG range at 65 MPH.

I will post again if anything odd seems to show up!
