HOV sticker removal

Just got my ugly stickers and noticed that they are supposed to self destruct if someone tries to remove them. Now since we're all fussy about our little cars, is there any way to remove them safely without damaging the paint or going through a lot of fuss? Anyone tried this yet?

They will leave some micro marring if not used carefully, but that can be polished out. At the least it won't dig in to the paint like a metal razor blade would.
