OK this isn't for my Insight but my "other" toy. I have a leak in my automatic transmission pan and when I checked the source, I found the bolt, located above where the linkage goes across, is stripped. The fluid seems to be coming from there. If it's not just the bolt that's stripped, how can I fix this?

Heli coil - Some auto parts stores should have or be able to get the kits or you could drill and tap it to the next size.

Lucky you

Really, you're lucky it's not broken off, that's way worse. Like LoNox said, a heli-coil kit or drill and re-tap the threads IF there is enough 'meat' of the trans body casting (thickness). Then get your book out and torque the pan bolts to the spec. Which won't be much, for bolts that size.
