How do you disconnect the power to install accessories?

How do you disconnect the power in the Insight whenever you are doing something that calls for disconnecting the negative battery cable on a regular car?

I presume just disconnecting the negative battery cable won't do it.

I could be wrong, but I think MCM stands for Motor Control Module. Depends on what you're doing whether you want to totally disconnect the battery or not. If you need to take the negative cable off to hook something up, you can use a jumper from the battery to a ground point so you don't have to reset everything.

But, Lee, wouldn't that jumper be defeating the purpose of taking off the negative lead? :?
