Tonight I had to jumpstart the Pod Car to get it running. Good thing I work at an AutoZone. 8)

Turning the key on caused the dash lights to flicker rapidly on and off.

I checked the battery connections (Optima dual purpose battery) and the positive terminal came off of the battery with just a tug and twist.

After cleaning and tightening the terminals, the car still wouldn't start. Jumped it and it fired right up. It drove home just fine, and would enter and exit idle stop with no problems, but once home, it again wouldn't restart. The battery's on a charger now and was below 80% charged. How far below, I don't know, but pretty far would be my guess.

I've been seeing daily resets for the past few weeks. I drive 25 miles to work and the same home each day. Hopefully this problem was also related to the loose battery cable. Once the battery is charged I'll load test it to see how it's doing. I'll post the results once I know more.

For now, check your battery terminals, folks.

Well, I took the battery in to Batteries Plus today, and sure enough, it's toast. I don't know if it's related to the loose battery terminal or not.

The battery's 18 months old, so I'd only get partial credit for a new one. The bad news is, the battery's on back order and they don't know when they'll get more.

So now I'm in the market for a new battery. Are there any other good ones out there?

Oh boy... now you've got me worried. I saw my first recal yesterday... and today the battery recalibrated itself again. I'm currently at less than 1/4 of a battery and it's making me nervous. I hope it charges up all the way on my home from work tonight. It's a good 35 mile drive, so that should give it sufficient time to recharge.

But I'm worried that what happened to you is going to happen to me. I'm paranoid!
