I just bought a beautiful insight :) I am obviously doing way better at driving than the previous owner (50.5 lmpg = previous, 60.1 = me w/AC on a 300 mile trip on my first day)

Please explain to me how to reset my LMPG, thanks!

In the Owner's manual, on page 53. The section is called "Gauges" and the page is called "Lifetime Fuel Mileage". Check it out.

Basically, while you see the LMPG, hold the "Trip" button, display flashes after 5 seconds, release and press again until cleared.

Good luck with your new car.

i have never been able to get this to work. I hold in the trip button while looking at the LMPG and total mileage, and it never flashes!
I have managed to drag the orginal purchase mileage (42mp) up to 48, but it would be nice to have -my- mileage showing.
(it was a city car, part of a fleet.)

I am able to reset the trip mileage, no problem.

Make sure the car isn't running. Put it in the (II) position on the ignition. Make sure that LMPG is showing. Push and hold the trip button. It will flash after about 5 seconds of holding it. Push the trip button again and do not let go until you see "--"

Then you are of to fresh start! Good luck!

PS also make sure the emergency brake is up.
