Is any one knows Insight quality for emissions exemption?
I went to the DMV they thought me that:"A hybird vehicle is powered by both electricity and gas. Hybird vehicles that get at least 50mpg during city driving as determined the Enviromental Protection Agency (EPA) are exempt from being emissions inspected. In order for the VFS to distinguish between hybird vehicles that qualify for emissions exemptions and those thatdo not, a new power code was added -"Y" - for those vehicles that get at least 50mpg."

That depends on your individual states requirements for emissions. I think most states exempt any new vehicles from the test for a certain number of years anyways.

When I bought my Insight in 03, they exempted it from emissions until 07. It will need to be tested in 07 though. I don't understand why a car with an SULEV rating (CVT), should even have to be tested when there are millions of other gas guzzling, air polluting vehicles on our roadways. I'm in CT.

Yes, I'm living in Washington State. But it is still requirements for emissions test until you apply and approved for emissions exemption.
But when I check with Honda dealler they said they don't know.
