This LENR breakthrough is looking more and more like real science.

LENR appears to be gathering steam

I have some nickle powder, plenty of nichrome, and will be getting a cylinder of Hydrogen or deuterium to do some experiments.
Looks like humans have another chance to get it right.
This would be a drop in replacement for any steam based electrical generating system, be it coal or nuclear, or a supertanker power plant.
Finally some good news.

They are adding hydrogen?

I wonder if that's included in their energy balance (we put in 50 watts, got out 60 watts!).

I read about this guy with the E-CAT before, and everything about it (closed box, mysterious contracts that can't be named, etc) all smacks of smoke and mirrors. Likewise these demonstrations where they say "watch it run" to a room full of people... that is not how science happens. "Look, it's still running" is not data.

They should have measurements with a calorimeter with all inputs/outputs recorded, along with neutron flux! You get no neutrons in your "fusion," you got no fusion. They should chart this, along with all the info needed to duplicate their apparatus, publish, and then various others can confirm.

THAT is how science is done. This all seems like a big scam show as yet. If not, they've handled it very poorly.

Be sure to look for the latest articles as the breakthrough came only a few months ago when a working theory that did not require new Physics to explain.
The short version :
the hydrogen saturates the metal lattice, and when the packing factor gets high enough the process of transmutation of Nickle to copper proceeds over a wide area, the high packing forces break through the weak neuclear force, and the metal sucks an electron from the hydrogen with the release of energy after absorbson by the metal is mostly in the IR range of the spectrum, or plain old heat.

the physics is real, the experiments are repeatable, and they have a working theory using standard physics. National Instruments (Labview), Mitsubishi , and many other big players have new or expanded research programs

bet we hear from the government before the election, as NASA and other national labs have already published positive results

IMHO this is real and will be a game changer in the next few years.
The big breakthrough came when some new theories were developed to explain the confirming results that hundreds of labs have been having.

So skeptics be ready to be convinced, and we can all get some hope about a brighter future.

I'm happy to be convinced by a decent pool of evidence.

I hope you are right Mike for all our sakes.

We shall see in next five years or so.
