I've been waiting for the spring of 2006 so I could buy low sulphur fuel in my area. It looks like that is out the window, at least temporarily.
This is from Yahoo news...
WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush pressured profit-rich oil companies to invest in new refineries on Tuesday and announced steps against any price gouging to contain gas prices that have soared while his popularity plummets. He directed the Environmental Protection Agency to suspend federal clean-burning gasoline rules this summer that are forcing consumers to buy expensive new gasoline blends.
Hopefully that doesn't mean that all companies will abandon low sulphur. Shell has the lowest in the NorthWest part of South Carolina, while Sunoco has one of the highest.
I'm sure glad I'm getting 80-85mpg on my commute now that it is warmer.
