Madison, Wisconsin.

Calling all hybrid owners and anyone interested in hybrid cars. Insight, Civic, Accord, Escape, Prius, RX 400h and more.

Next Saturday morning April 2nd, from 10:00 -11:30 the Madison Hybrid Group will meet at the Greenway Station Starbucks in Middleton, Wisconsin.

We’ll have updates about upcoming hybrids and in addition to your own hybrid, there will be a hard-to-find Honda Accord Hybrid available for exploring.

Come share stories and tips, complain (or gloat) about high gas prices, as well as vent any frustrations about those pesky EPA mileage estimates. Even if you don’t own a hybrid car, but want to find out more about hybrid, please feel free to join us. Fun is guaranteed!

If you know you are coming, send me a private message, post a reply here, or email me at the address in my profile. That way we obtain a big enough table for our group.

See you there!

Eric Powers

Hi Justin:

___I do not know if I can make it as I might be taking the Insight with me for a long trip to Massachusetts next weekend. If not, I will be meeting up with GreenandBlue sometime on Saturday morning to play with his brand new AH. Maybe I can pay half the gas and we can both drive out in his AH to the meet as Eric really does set up a good one if the Milwaukee Brewers Game - Hybrid Group Meet was any indication.

___In regards to techniques, Eric knows what is needed as he is a hypermiler himself so he should be able to help you along without much other then discussing the various setups and techniques face to face … It will be a lot easier that way :D

___Eric, if I do not make it, I hope the meet is a huge success just as last years Game meet was. I am sure it will be given your organizational/promotional skills.

___Good Luck to the both of you.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend.
Do you have the “hot air” modification already set up in your Insight? If not, search the archives and get the necessary components and bring them to the event. I’d be happy to show you in person how to set it up. It only takes a few minutes, costs very little, and has a nice impact on gas mileage.

xcel,

Thanks for the kind words. Your comment made me start checking on another Miller Park get together. I'll start another post once I have some more details. Basically it will be on a Sunday at 1:05 since that's when tickets are cheapest. $10 "Terrace Reserved" tickets which includes a hot dog and a soda. We'll just have to come up with a date. I'll bring up this topic at the Hybrid get-together this Saturday and see what people think. We'll need at least 25 people. But this shouldn't be a problem since 33 responded last year.

I think I'm going to hold off on the hot air mod for now since I bought it certified used & want to hang onto the warranty for at least the first 12/12,000 Bumper to bumper. Plus the Cigarette lighter isn't working, so I plan on taking it in for warranty service soon.

I picked up the insight at Boyland Honda down on the south side. I had been prodding Wilde to find one for me for quite a while now, but they never did. Then when I was at Boyland looking at Elements with my dad I saw my little green beauty sitting in the lot.

I can understand holding off on the mod.
If you come to any of the events, I'll show you my mod so you'll have the idea for future reference. It's easy to put on and even easier to remove.

Tomorrow's event will be fun. Cars slated for coming
Honda Insight
Honda Accord
Classic Prius
2004 Prius

The Honda Civic Hybrisd owners that have replied said they cannot make it. But who knows maybe their plans will change.
