whenever i turn on my car, the maintenence required light flashes six times and goes off and doesn't come on again until i turn my car on again. so i was just curious as to what may have caused this. i'm going to take it to the dealership on tuesday if i can't figure it out.

It's just a light that says "hey genius, change my oil" it comes on every 6,000 miles and will stay illuminated after 7,500 miles. The whole procedure is layed out in the owners manual. I think you hold the trip button while turning the key on to clear it. It's just a reminder to do regular scheduled matenience, not to be confused with the check engine light.

yeah, i was thinking it was the check engine light. then i got the bright idea of 'look it up in the maual' and i actually used my braind and read part of a book and it explained it all. i should really do that first before i go and act like a dummy twice in two days on this board.
