Pretty much as Jime says.

If you want maximum IMA performance from the pack then the MCM has to see a battery temperature of at least 20C

That MCM temperature is also seen/reported by the OBDIIC&C.

If you use/pass thru the actual temperature then you will see that.
IMA current will however be limited by the MCM when below 20C or so.

The BCM Replacer A board on it's own can't be used with a Lithium or NIMH pack.
It needs tap voltage modules or a separate BMS (orion) etc to tell it what the battery voltage is.
The voltage, temp, current, soc, etc is then sent to the MCM for comparison against it's own readings.
