hey the insight has been missing and surging on and off, not too bad, but it starting doing it all the time last week. Removed the Egr and clean it, samething. After a little checking around I found the #2 coil pack cracked. Its on order and I will post a pic after I have changed it.

what?

Second post not clear. Could you zoom in on what you're talking about?

Where do you get parts? How much? Have you messed with the plugs yet? Miles on car?

I am waiting on my second EGR valve. It has as a new part number and is supposedly improved. I have the same old light throttle stumble I had before the first EGR valve replacement 60 K ago. Cleaning had no effect. 116 K total miles.

Thanks.

Well I can "understand" about 1/2 of each your posts. So before things get too out of hand lets try to take the time to build a bridge rather than burn one (and I've got the fire "extinguisher" if necessary  )

downloader
I don't understand your comment; "Check out the old one its blown wide." And while your pics meet the rule requirements they don't shed any further "light" in regard to the failure they experienced. I'd have to guess. And by looking, it looks burnt :?:

nortoncomando
You've kinda "spammed" him with too many questions. (your enthusiasm is showing ;) (I hope )

Who's gonna constructively reply first :?: :)

Sincerely,

OK

I am sorry if I offended.
I read ' The Rules ' and I'm not sure how. I guess it's the amount of questions per post.
What is proper number when enguiring minds want to know?

I should look at my plugs someday. The new , superseded part number,
EGR valve is on it's way so I'm stuck with it. Hope it's not plug related.

Thanks, I. Trekker

Thanks for the apology nortoncommando. :)

And enthusiasm is encouraged. There are no specific "rules" in the number of questions asked per post. I looks to me like downloader was having a bad day. But it is a "nettiquette" issue and your enthusiasm could be interpreted as a thread "hijack". Similar to group conversation where someone butts-in and takes over the topic. And since were on this subject downloaders effective "bug-off" isn't good nettiquette either. Its all about verbiage and the ocasional emoticon. ;) (Its not only what you "say" but also "how" you say it.)

But let's also keep in mind the limitations of communication between strangers, limiting it to the written word only. I'm filling in a LOT of blanks here, possibly and easily in error.

I too am curious as to downloaders technical "blank" spots. Overall miles and a better description of the coil packs failure would be a welcome clairification.

HTH! :)

Sorry for being so snappy, it happens when you work outside in the dark and its snowing. Look at the metal part of the coil pack in the first picture notice the difference in size of the metal part on the top it is expanded and the lower part is normal size. In the botton pic you can see a black spot where it was grounding (top right in silcon). I don't think miles has anything to do with it, I think that humidity was the cause, the metal expanded until the plastic and silcon broke. I 'm going to seal these parts with some kind of high heat silcon or something like that.

Back side of the engine right over the spark plugs. One 10mm bolt holds them in place. You should be able to see them without removing the engine cover, but it would make it easier to get to without the cover.
