I've suffered some of the many CEL complaints that others in this forum have had, but never really cared. They would eventually go away, and my milage would never really be affected(65mpg avg). This went on for 3 years. This year, however, I think I have a real problem. The following code will just not go away:
P0134 - O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 1)
While this code is triggered, the voltage on the O2 sensor in question is unchanging at 1.085V(which seems to be about the MAX). If I clear the code from the computer, the voltage begins to fall gradually to 0.050(almost the MIN) over the course of a minute or so. It stays stuck at that voltage until the same code registers again(no activity on O2 sensor B1S1). Once the CEL comes on, the voltage starts to creep back up to 1.085V!!! This cycle can be repeated over and over agian. If the O2 sensor was actually dead, or the wiring faulty, why would the state of the CEL have any effect on the activity of the sensor? In other words, the alarm status seems to be part of some sort of feedback circuit. What other failure could "force" the 02 sensor into an inactive state, falsely triggering the P0134 code?
