If someone has a good copy of the schematics, I need a copy. I am looking to created a MIMA mode 2 only, circuit. A MIMA cruise control, if you will. I am also thinking that if there is a momentary pulse applied to some point, I can force the car into autostop above 20mph.

Insightful trekker, I understand, you may have what I need, but I couldn't find your email address.

Hi Dan,

PM's work ;)

But since you asked here thats OK too. :) And in general its the method I prefer for such information so the whole group can also benefit.

Not sure what your asking for. Mike's got the MIMA instructions on his site ( :?: ) Shouldn't need anything else in that regard.

The Factory ETM is what you'll need for any custom modifications. Helm & eBay are the places. Its about 5/8" thick so I don't see how I can help except to give general pointers about specific limited electrical questions. I've only got so much wear left in these fingers. ;)

HTH! :)

Hi Dan, if you haven't already checked it out you could read "FAS it works!", as much work has been done already. It is a long and sometimes confusing read. To sumarize, The simple way to force auto stop is to do auto stall. Mike has published a schematic for a relay latched version on his site that has been verified to work. I have tested a solid state version on the bench but not yet in my car. Soon! :D

I assume you are considering using a linear version of Mima?

If you PM me I my be able to send a Jpeg of an appropriate section as the full schematic is YUUUUUGE.

Service and parts manual

If you know where I can get the service and part manual and/or CD, I would rather start doing my own repairs and I would have a much better understanding of my baby! I'm sure the manuals have a theory of operation section and although I've never been much of a mechanic, I do fix computers, networks and laser printers for a living, so I'm sure I could muddle through it. Any links would be great. I tried chiltonsonline but it was too confusing as to what I could get.

:? HUH :?: I thought I already gave you sufficient direction. Google up HELM and factory Service manual. And there are almost always a couple on eBay. All others are inferior (especially in the ETM department) so accept no substute.

Yes, the factory manuals do have a theory of operation section for most items. But when you get into the ETM and some of the black boxes their "theory" of operation could encompass an entire book in itself. And since much of it is propritary AFAIK no manufacturer publishes such.
