My rear drums have been machined before, and are also heavily corroded. I need to buy new ones. It seems nobody sells them except the dealership. Anyone know where I can get a pair without paying about $300 cdn.

If the rear drums have corroded they may not have been serviced regularly as the maintenaince manual suggests.
Also it's not a good idea to park with the emergency brake on for extended periods of time where there is high moisture or in winter.
I learned my lesson many years ago with my previous car.

If the rear drums required machining then avoid parking with the emergency brake on unless you are on a hill. Just leave the car in gear and it will not roll away on reasonably level ground.

I suggest replacing whatever drum brake parts required with new parts and following the above advice so you will never have to worry about your drum brakes for the next 10 or 15 years.

I always leave the parking break on. Thx for the advice G.
And thx for the great link J. I sent in the request. Hopefully they'll have the part.

I saw a post somewhere else where someone bought front rotors at Autozone. Have you checked the local parts places (or online with say Advance Auto or Napa)?

Good luck.
