Does anyone know if Honda is planning a new design model for the Insight. I have a 2002 standard with A/C with 110,000 miles on it. Before I put any money into it I was wondering if there are plans for an updated Insight in the near future.

Thanks (64.1 mpg for last 100,000 miles)

Not only are they most likely not planning an updated Insight, '06 could very well be the last year. Honda has a concept car similar to the Insight called the Imas, http://www.electrifyingtimes.com/honda_IMAS.html which http://www.autotrader.co.uk still has listed as coming in Autumn of 2006, but they are the only site that lists the Imas as being an actual production car. If the Imas actually does make it to the marketplace, it would probably be the closest you'll get to an updated Insight.

The Imas is not coming out in Autumn of '06. If it were, there would be A LOT more news going on right now about it. The interior of the car as it was shown in '03 will not look like that if/when it comes out.

Tell that to autotrader.co.uk. I called them and asked their source and if they were sure of their information. They said they couldn't give their source, but they wouldn't post it if they weren't sure. According to American Honda Motor Co, they told me they are sometimes not told about new models arriving until a month or less before hand. We'll know in a year if Autotrader is right or not. I hope they are. I think the Imas is a cool looking car.
