I did it, bought a 2000 Insight with 50,000km on it..loving it and getting used to driving it. I haven't worked my through the entire manual yet, but I'm noticing that the 'up' arrow is coming on telling me to shift even when the engine appears to be lugging. For example, the arrow is telling me to shift into fourth when my instinct tells me to gear down. I know it's probably not a big deal but hey, I'm a newbie.
Thanks

That sounds about right. I find the shift-suggestor is most accurate during acceleration to highway speed. If I'm maintaining speed below that, or if I'm driving on hilly terrain, I tend to ignore the arrows. I'm not convinced that Honda programmers designed that feature to be 100% correct in all situations.

Congratulations on your purchase. The shift arrow will tell me to shift from 4th to 5th gear as I'm going up a hill, then right after I shift, it tells me to downshift. Your better off ignoring it, at least on hilly areas.
