Thank you!

It was worth the drive. Now I have to decide what to do with my old rims. They'll prob just collect dust and spiders in the garage.

Paint

Your car looks terrific. It is a stand out in what already is a unique car. I was wondering if the body shop had to take any special precautions with the battery pack when the car was in the drying booth due to the heat?

selling old rims

Some of the old rims are a little chewed up looking, I like the idea of selling them for MIMA. When can I come check out your ride?

Actually they didn't use heat at all. They let it cure the right way, but it took a long time because it wasn't really warm out

Your Insight looks great. All you need now is rippling red LEDs in the radiator grille, just like KITT / Knight Rider. :) (How sad am I?)

You can get about $300 for your Insight rims on Ebay.
Lots of auto-x racers like to buy them because they are light weight and the required width to compete in the stock class.

My emphasis added.

Depending on the paint used, not baking it could be curing it the wrong way. I'm not an expert bodyman but I've been known to play one on TV and having just enough knowledge in the area to be dangerous I know that most modern paints are designed to be baked. Without baking you won't get full solvent evaporation which will leave the paint weak and porous.

the right paint

No worries my friend. This body shop is AAA, comes recommended by my State Farm agent and it looks great!

Me

Car

I prefer the original Honda wheels, but.... GOD that's gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. Why, oh why, won't Honda sells black insights in the United States?

When you decide to sell it, and if it does not have too many miles, please put me as #1 on your list.

When I decide to sell it, too many miles

Troy,

Thank you for the compliment! I'm not done yet, but you know how it is. the rear fence and the rear deck get their due before I spend any more on her. I'll probably drive it till someone totals it, God forbid. I already have 249,600 miles and I've restored it to almost new. Thanks again!

WOW. That's a lot of miles. My last car died at 340,000 (rod broke & destroyed engine), and I was happy to get rid of it. Needed a change.

Why's it called a "Who" mobile? Is that a reference to Doctor Who? I don't see the connection, since I don't recall the Doctor driving a sports car? Although I guess an Insight is better than a Model T.

Can't wait to see the new 2005 Doctor on Sci-Fi Channel (again). I've only watched it three times.

Why call it a Who-Mobile?

My wife says it reminds her of the cars the "Whos" in Who-ville drive in "The Grinch" !

Nope. rock solid
HUH :!: :!: :?

AFAI remember your on your 2nd engine (used) and 2nd (3rd from new) used IMA pack. And you've had a few other not too unreasonable problems. IMO the engine problem was a bit early and the IMA pack(s) were the luck of the draw being used. But you know how to compair it to the other vehicles you've owned better than I.

I guess "rock solid" means different things to different people. ;)

Sincerely,
