These new spark plugs claim to increase the force of the downstroke of car engines, thus increasing fuel economy. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the link and info. That is not exactly new, there where 4 electrodes a few years ago. It turned out not to make much of a difference (on mpg, power,...) so it did not catch on.

Hi Seth, The plugs we have in our Insights (indexed Iridium) are the state of the art. The E3 plugs may be better than standard plugs but they would almost certainly degrade the performance of the Insight. Nothing lasts longer than Iridium. This is important as changing the plugs on the Insight is more complex than on a normal car.

This is not a new idea.
The Insight's own Iridium plugs are better for sure.

Yea, Iridium is the top of the line at the moment. My MINI comes with 4 electrode spark plugs and people are upgrading to iridium.
